Blogging will be light...

Apologies for the light blogging at the moment - I am preparing for some notoriously nasty professional exams and don't have a vast amount of spare time.

I hope to update in full once the exams are out of the way (in October), but in the meantime here's a shameless plug for my next concert, which will be with the Oberon Symphony Orchestra on 19 October at 7:30 p.m. in St James' Church, Sussex Gardens, London W2. We're performing Beethoven's Symphony no. 6 (the "Pastoral") and Dvořák's 'cello concerto with the fantastic Rohan de Saram.  Not to be missed!

As a taster, here's Rohan in action:

About this blog

Hello and welcome to my new blog!

You might have found your way here from my other blog, "Green Ink Ninja", which I set up after penning a letter to the BBC which accidentally went viral.  The full story can be found over there.

In the wake of my accidental 15 minutes of Internet fame, my friends encouraged me to keep writing. Taking the view that I can't be angry and sarcastic all the time (Go on.  Try me.) I decided to set up this blog in parallel.

I hope to keep the other blog going as and when I find examples of lazy journalism which I have the time to tackle, but in the meantime I'm hoping to use this blog to branch out - probably to write about musical news with a more positive slant.  That, and blatant self-promotion, of course.
